Turturro wants Big Lebowski return

John Turturro has revealed he would like to reprise his role in The Big Lebowski for a new film.

The 57-year-old, who played bowler Jesus Quintana in Ethan and Joel Coen's 1998 crime comedy, dropped the news at a master class at the Taormina Film Festival, said The Hollywood Reporter.

"If I can get the permission I need, I'd like to return to that role," he said to loud applause.

The actor added that he hopes to get legal clearance in time for the new film, which would be released in 2015.

Cult classic The Big Lebowski starred Jeff Bridges as unemployed bowler Jeff 'The Dude' Lebowski, with John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Julianne Moore and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

John was among those honoured at the eight-day film event in the 2,700-year old Teatro Antico, alongside Ben Stiller, Melanie Griffith, Matt Dillon and Eva Longoria.
