Hi °C | Lo °C It was less than a year ago that Katie Price was forced to rubbish reports that her marriage to Peter Andre was over.
The glamour model was furious at the time and even threatened trouble for the culprit who was spreading what she claimed were “upsetting lies”. But it seems the source behind the rumours got it right after all — and, some eight months on, the golden couple of reality TV are set to split.
Their marriage has not been without its problems — allegations of Katie’s insecurity about her body and Peter’s growing frustration at his wife’s wild partying ways. It was also claimed Katie had a jealous streak and that Peter secretly resented her success.
On several occasions the pair felt the need to speak out about the state of their relationship, with Katie claiming it was “rock solid”.
After one blazing row, which saw her walk out on him for several days, she said: “We are not breaking up. We’re in love, for God’s sake.”
She also said that infidelity would be the only reason they would ever split.
“The only thing that would make him walk out on me is if I cheated on him, and that’s never going to happen, so he’s never going to walk out.”
No reason has been cited for their decision to divorce, but it is understood the couple grew apart and that their differences were just too insurmountable.
