Jean-Claude Van Damme has denied he suffered a heart attack

Jean-Claude Van Damme has denied that he suffered a heart attack on the set of his latest movie.

The actor and martial arts star, 50, knocked down reports sparked by a delay in production of his new movie, Weapon, that he was struck on the set of the film.

His website said: "JCVD is in better shape than ever and preparing for his fight in July. He did not suffer from a heart attack on the set of Weapon as reported on some websites!"

On Facebook, the Muscles From Brussels wrote: "Hours ago, I read a rumour online about me suffering heart attack!! Please, do not believe all what you read from rumours on any unofficial JCVD sites."

He added: Jean-Claude Van Damme is 100% healthy, training well for taking the fight and sending his fans and friends much love - JCVD"

Rumours were sparked after "complications" were cited as the reason behind the delay in production of his new film.
