Vaughn to take a political role?

Vince Vaughn is in talks to star in comedy The Politician.

The Wedding Crashers star is said to be attached to the film, which counts Seth Rogen among its producers, said The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, which will also be produced by Seth's producing partner Evan Goldberg, focuses on a politician in Washington, DC, who goes on the run from the FBI, US marshals and a gang of drug dealers after he gets caught in an escorts scandal.

Michael Dowse, the Canadian director behind romantic comedy What If starring Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan, has signed on to direct the project.

Matthew Bass and Theodore Bressman's script, which was on the 2013 Black List, was picked up by Columbia late last year in a bidding war.

Vince, who has starred in comedies such as Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Couples Retreat and The Internship, will next be seen in action comedy Term Life. He will also join the cast of the second season of HBO's True Detective.
