Vince Vaughn signs up for Term Life

Vince Vaughn is adding another comedy role to his CV.

The 43-year-old actor - who has starred in comedies such as Starsky And Hutch, Anchorman and Wedding Crashers - is taking the lead role in Term Life, reported The Wrap.

He will play a low-life who has got on the wrong side of most people he knows, including police, the mob and contract killers.

He decides he wants to finally do something good so takes out a big life insurance policy on himself, payable to his estranged daughter. All he has to do is stay alive for three weeks so it can take effect, and the film follows his mission to make it to the 21-day mark.

Vince will be working with director Peter Billingsley on the movie, who was at the helm of his 2009 film Couples Retreat.

Production is due to start in January 2014.
