Vinnie Jones seeking comedy role

Vinnie Jones wants to be a 'household name'

Vinnie Jones has admitted he would love to land a comedy role.

The British star is known for playing hardmen in films such as Snatch and Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels but confessed he wouldn't mind exploring his funny side on screen.

He told The Sun: "I earn a good living playing baddies, but I would love to play a funny role."

The actor revealed he might even be able to give himself the chance to do something lighter, as he has now moved behind the cameras.

"I am producing stuff now so maybe I will offer myself something!" he said.

Vinnie can next be seen as crook M in US TV programme Elementary - which stars Jonny Lee Miller, and said the Sherlock Holmes show has been a "a nice little gig" for him.

But he admitted that despite his success so far he wants to be even bigger.

"People say, 'I love Snatch, I love Lock, Stock', but I want to be more than a movie name. I'd love to be a household name," said the star.
