Walters: I'm happy with my roles

Ashley Walters is happy with his career as it is

Ashley Walters has said he isn't worried about being typecast - despite playing underworld roles in two upcoming projects.

The Bullet Boy actor appears as a gang leader in new crime film Sket, and as a drug dealer in the upcoming Channel 4 drama Top Boy, but insists he's just happy getting good scripts.

"There was probably a day that I did [worry about playing the same kind of roles] but at the moment, I'm at the place where I'm pretty much picking stuff I want to do. I'm not saying I'm being offered everything, but it's nice to get scripts and go with my heart," he told the Guardian.

The former So Solid Crew star, 29 - who also appears in new horror movie Demons Never Die - played down the acclaim he has received for his work.

"Maybe everything looks a lot more amazing because of where I've come from and what I was doing before," he said.

"If I had graduated from Rada I doubt I would get much hype. I'm happy to take it but I I feel like I'm learning all the time."

:: Sket and Demons Never Die are released on October 28.

This isn't a good time to make travel plans. Weather conditions and work responsibilities have a way of wreaking havoc with your schedule. Wait another few days before putting down a hefty deposit. Working behind the scenes will yield significant rewards. If someone asks you to serve as their assistant, go ahead and accept. The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
