Warcraft film gets release date

Colin Farrell has been linked to the Warcraft film

The upcoming Warcraft movie is to be released in 2015, it has been announced.

The eagerly anticipated film version of the popular World Of Warcraft video game will be unveiled on December 18, 2015, reported Deadline.

So far plot and casting details have not been confirmed, although Colin Farrell is tipped for a lead role and Paul Dano and Paula Patton are among those said to be in talks for parts.

Other actors such as Anton Yelchin, Travis Fimmel from The History Channel's Vikings and Anson Mount from Hell On Wheels are also thought to be in consideration for roles.

Production on the fantasy film, which is being directed by Moon filmmaker Duncan Jones, is due to start in January.
