Warrior Joel becomes scriptwriter

Joel Edgerton is branching out into scriptwriting after selling his first screenplay.
The Warrior star has sold the rights to his comedy drama One Night Stand to New Regency, The Hollywood Reporter's star.
The Australian actor will executive produce the movie about a man and woman coping with the consequences of their one night stand, but he is not currently attached to star.
Joel had his big break in movies last year, starring in martial arts drama Warrior and in the remake of The Thing.
The 37-year-old is one of this year's rising stars with several movies due out, including a role in Baz Luhrmann's next big screen epic The Great Gatsby.
