Wasikowska a fan of Ayoade's work

Mia Wasikowska has said she became a big fan of Richard Ayoade's work after starring in The Double, which he directed.

The IT Crowd actor adapted Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel for the big screen starring Jesse Eisenberg in both lead parts, and Mia as his character's love interest.

She said: "I watched Submarine (which Richard directed in 2010) before I started The Double and I was completely blown away by it and since then have seen other things that he's been a part of, but I think he's absolutely brilliant.

"I can't wait to see him do more films, I think he has a unique perspective."

Mia stars in the upcoming Tracks as Australian adventurer Robyn Davidson, who trekked across the deserts of Western Australia with her four camels and dog.

Tracks is released in cinemas on April 25.
