Wasikowska to take role in Stoker?

Mia Wasikowska may appear in Stoker

Mia Wasikowska is said to be in talks to star in Stoker.

Carey Mulligan had been attached to play an "eccentric teen" who experiences strange happenings when her estranged uncle returns to the family after the death of her father, but Deadline reported that the Alice In Wonderland star is currently negotiating to step into her shoes.

It is not known if Jodie Foster is still appearing in the movie.

The thriller, written by Prison Break's Wentworth Miller under the pseudonym Ted Foulke, will be directed by Korean director Chan-wook Park (Oldboy, Thirst), and will be his first English-language film.

Shooting will begin in spring.

Since taking the title role in Tim Burton's adaptation of Alice In Wonderland, Australian actress Mia has appeared in Oscar-nominated The Kids Are All Right and has finished work on the Cary Fukunaga-directed Jane Eyre alongside Dame Judi Dench and Michael Fassbender.
