Sigourney Weaver and Jamie Lee Curtis seemingly committed the ultimate fashion faux pas when they wore the same dress on the red carpet - but it was on purpose.
The stars 'accidentally' turned up for the Hollywood premiere of their new film You Again sporting identical blue satin dresses, as their characters do in the movie.
"Why did she wear the same dress? I think it's so mean", Sigourney teased.
The actress insisted she'd had a fabulous time making the comedy, in which the pair play high school rivals reunited years later through a family wedding.
"It's like a great palette cleanser to do a comedy, it's so wonderful. I had so much fun doing this movie, its such an awesome ensemble", she said.
Jamie Lee said she'd never had any real-life rivalry with the Alien actress.
"I never even got a shot at any of the jobs she got", she laughed. "Because she's a little older than I am, she was a major star that I looked up to."
The actress joked: "I didn't know her, we're from very different backgrounds, and until tonight I really thought we had become friends!".
