What does the future hold for Christine Bleakley ?

Christine Bleakley is pondering her future as the exclusive high-profile contract she signed with ITV runs out in a couple of months.

Back in September 2010, the glamorous television presenter made headlines when she left the BBC's One Show to front ITV's Daybreak as part of £4m golden handcuffs deal.

The move was expected to launch her to greater stardom but lost its shine when the morning programme's ratings were weaker than hoped.

The Newtownards star and her co-presenter Adrian Chiles eventually left a couple of months after their first anniversary on the breakfast show.

Since then, the 34-year-old's most high-profile job for ITV has been presenting the last two series of celebrity skating show Dancing On Ice, alongside Philip Schofield.

Other one-off roles have included hosting Text Santa and That Dog Can Dance, plus music specials, such as Simply Red: For the Last Time and Duran Duran: One Night Only.

Last month, signalling that she wanted to shake things up and rejuvenate her career in the UK, London-based Christine left her management company, Avalon, to sign with James Grant, who has Davina McCall, Patrick Kielty and Ant and Dec on his books.

With the end of her lucrative contract looming, Christine is at the centre of claims that she is facing a 70% pay cut if she is to host the next series of Dancing On Ice, which begins early next year.

Reports suggested Christine was thought to be earning around £40,000 per episode – £400,000 for the 10-week run – and that this was likely to be reduced to £12,000 if she's offered the next series.

Last night, Christine's spokesman said: "It's far too early to be having meetings about Dancing On Ice."

Another showbiz source close to the presenter said: "The next series of Dancing On Ice isn't on until 2014.

"The figures doing the rounds at the moment have been plucked out of the air."

Away from the television screen, Christine and fiance, England footballer Frank Lampard, are happy and very much in love as they consider dates for an up-coming wedding, rumoured to be in the summer.
