Wiig got a good surprise from Mitty

Kristen Wiig has said she was pleasantly surprised by how good The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty turned out to be when she watched it back.

The Bridesmaids star told Collider it was always difficult to picture what the finished product would look like, but she was pleased when she saw the film in which she co-stars with director Ben Stiller.

She said: "You never know, any movie you do you see the finished thing and you're like, 'Wait, what?' Yeah I was completely blown away, I mean I think it's really beautiful. There are so many shots of Ben skateboarding and stuff where I wasn't there so I didn't get to see any of that footage and I thought the music was unbelievable.

"I was really pleasantly surprised and happy. I knew it was going to be good, but all of the visual effects and the music and everything, it really just created this really beautiful thing."

Of working on the film, she added: "The fact that Ben's an actor too, he knows what you need."

Kristen also offered some hope that there would be a sequel in the not too distant future for 2010 special agent comedy MacGruber.

She said: "MacGruber 2, I'm hoping. Last I heard they were working on a script so I'm in... I need it to happen, I loved making that movie."

The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty is in cinemas now.
