Wiig to look after Nasty Baby?

Kristen Wiig shot to fame in Bridesmaids

Kristen Wiig is reportedly in "early talks" to star in indie drama Nasty Baby.

The Bridesmaids star has apparently expressed an interest in playing Anna, the best friend of a gay couple, but a deal has yet to be finalised, a source told The Wrap.

Sebastian Silva, who is set to direct and has written the screenplay, will also star alongside Tunde Adebimpe as the male pair.

The story would follow the gay couple as they try to have a baby with Anna's help.

Set in Brooklyn, the trio will be seen interacting with a variety of characters including a potentially dangerous neighbourhood resident known as The Bishop, played by Reg E Cathey.

Arrested Development's Alia Shawkat, Breaking Bad actor Mark Margolis and True Blood's Denis O'Hare are also being considered for roles.

Since winning a Golden Globe for comedy Bridesmaids, which she co-wrote and starred in, Kristen has starred in Judd Apatow's comedy Friends With Kids, the comedy Girl Most Likely and lent her voice to secret agent Lucy Wilde in Despicable Me 2.

The former Saturday Night Live comedian's upcoming roles include Ben Stiller's The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty and the Anchorman sequel, Anchorman: The Legend Continues.
