Wilson steps out for Free Birds
Owen Wilson has revealed that football and arguments are the key to fun family festivities.
Owen pondered his key Thanksgiving traditions at the Los Angeles premiere of new animated movie Free Birds, in which he voices a turkey who goes back in time to try to remove the birds from the traditional Thanksgiving menu.
The Texas native, who is brother to fellow actor Luke Wilson, said: "Football and arguing, nothing like a nice big family argument at Thanksgiving, In Dallas we always would have a football game and then my mother and my grandmother would team up to make up for a great Thanksgiving meal and pecan pie and stuffing and turkey and all the fixings."
But he added his own cooking speciality was far less traditional: "Nachos, I will make some nachos that will blow your mind."
The Wedding Crashers star plays opposite Hunger Games actor Woody Harrelson in the animated caper, but Woody revealed their attempts at working together in the voice booth were not successful.
"It was terrible, we thought we were good but we were our own best audience and the director separated us, there was a little bit of not getting enough done.
Owen added: "We made the argument we are used to acting in movies where you have somebody to bounce stuff off of and there were two sessions where we were together but the director didn't feel they were very productive so they decided to separate us and that probably ended up being more efficient."
