Wilson: Zoolander 2 up in the air

Owen Wilson has revealed that the Zoolander sequel has yet to be given the green light.

There has been speculation that the highly anticipated follow-up to the 2001 comedy would see Ben Stiller and Owen reprise their roles as male catwalk models, alongside newcomer Penelope Cruz.

But Owen, who currently stars in Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb with Ben, admitted: "There's been talk that we're maybe going to do another Zoolander but nothing is written in stone, so we'll see what happens."

He later told US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres that a script has already been written.

"Well, I don't mean to be coy, but I know that there's a script and Ben is considering it. So we'll see," he said, adding: "We have to do it."

Ben, who directed, co-wrote and co-produced Zoolander, previously revealed that the sequel was on hold.

He said at the Taormina Film Festival in June: "The film's been discussed and in some way in the works for 10 years, but there are no plans to start production any time soon."
