Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice talks?

Winona Ryder might star in Beetlejuice 2

Winona Ryder is in talks to reprise her role in the Beetlejuice sequel, according to reports.

The actress, 40, played goth adolescent Lydia Deetz in the original 1988 comedy horror movie.

She told MTV News that she was set to meet the film's director Tim Burton to discuss the possibility of appearing in a follow-up.

Asked whether she would star in a sequel, Winona told MTV News that Michael Keaton, who played the starring role of Beetlejuice, was the main interest.

"I'm seeing Tim next week, and I will let you know... Obviously I'm not the focal point; it's got to be Michael," she said.

"It's being written, but is it happening? Tim hasn't confirmed it yet," she added.

Earlier this year, Tim said that writer Seth Grahame-Smith was working on ideas for a follow-up to the comedy horror fantasy , which also starred Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin.

Michael has also previously expressed an interest in reprising his charismatic freelance "bio-exorcist" ghost role.
