Winslet to join sidewalk of stars

Oscar winner Kate Winslet is joining other stars on the Walk Of Fame

Kate Winslet is to be recognised with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

The late actor Richard Burton, famed for his hell-raising lifestyle and stormy romance with Elizabeth Taylor, is also getting the honour.

Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, The Simpsons creator Matt Groening, Batman star Adam West, and A Clockwork Orange star Malcolm McDowell were also chosen to be recognised on the Walk Of Fame in Los Angeles.

Chairman of the selection committee John Pavlik said: "The committee has selected a fabulous slate of stars to add sparkle and lustre to the Hollywood Walk Of Fame over the next year, as well as to generate a once-in-a-lifetime Hollywood experience for many of the visitors who stop by when their favourite personalities are having their stars placed in the world-famous sidewalk of the stars."

Welsh actor Burton and Taylor's tempestuous life together is reported to be being made into a film by Goodfellas director Martin Scorsese.

Taylor, who died earlier this year aged 79, married eight times - twice to Burton.

You feel optimistic and for good reason. An admirer has been trying to win your heart. All this attention is flattering. If you're single, keep playing hard to get. The more you resist, the more they'll persist. Are you already in a relationship? Start pursuing a cherished dream. Fulfilling your heart's desire will make you a better partner and friend. Dwelling on what might have been will just make you bitter. Take a risk. It's better to try and fail than be paralysed by fear.More
