Winstone prepares Penn for Gunman

Ray Winstone will play a tough guy in The Gunman

Ray Winstone is to star as Sean Penn's mentor in thriller The Gunman.

The British actor is to play a tough guy who helps to train Sean's hitman character in Taken director Pierre Morel's upcoming movie, reported Deadline.

Sean is already on board to play a professional killer who tries to leave his job for the woman he loves (played by Jasmine Trinca), but finds himself betrayed and hunted by the organisation he worked for in the big-screen adaptation of Jean-Patrick Manchette's novel Prone Gunman.

Javier Bardem has been cast as Jasmine's screen husband, while Luther star Idris Elba is "nearing a deal" to play a dangerous agent who will "stop at nothing to get his way" as they embark on a fatal game of cat and mouse with the pair.

Ray - who last starred in The Sweeney alongside rapper Ben Drew (Plan B) - will next be seen in Darren Aronofsky's Biblical epic Noah, which also stars Russell Crowe.

Virgo:

It's difficult to deal with a highly competitive colleague. Every time you submit work, they try to find ways to outperform you. Although you have no interest in pitting your talent against theirs, this other person thinks very differently. Ignoring them won't be possible. A good way to disarm this pest is to invite them out for coffee. Describe what you've observed and ask for a truce. Irrational people are often thrown off balance when their behaviour is addressed in a direct manner.More
