Reese Witherspoon is set to star in new indie drama The Good Lie.
The Oscar-winner is currently said to be in talks about starring in the film about the Lost Boys of Sudan, thousands of boys who were displaced or orphaned during the Second Sudanese Civil War from 1983 to 2005.
The Wrap reports that the movie will focus on four boys who eventually went to the US and were given a new lease of life with a "brash American woman", the role mum-of-three Reese is in line to play.
Philippe Falardeau will direct the film.
Reese - who gave birth to her third child, son Tennessee in September - was last seen on the big screen in last year's romantic comedy This Means War.
The 36-year-old's upcoming releases include the drama Mud and crime thriller Devil's Knot.
