Shailene Woodley is set to star in The Fault In Our Stars film.
The Golden Globe-nominated actress is to play cancer patient Hazel Grace in Josh Boone's big-screen adaptation of John Green's novel, reported Entertainment Weekly.
The author said: "I am absolutely thrilled that Shailene will be playing Hazel in The Fault In Our Stars. It means a lot to me that she is a fan of the book, and I know from our conversations that she has a profound understanding of Hazel.
"Watching her audition, I felt like Hazel Grace Lancaster was talking to me. It was eerie - and very exciting."
The story, which has been adapted for the movie by (500) Days Of Summer writers Michael H Weber and Scott Neustadter, follows two cancer-stricken teenagers Hazel and Augustus who strike up a friendship after meeting in a support group.
The role of Augustus has not been offered to any actors yet.
Shailene is one of the hotly tipped actresses around, following her movie debut as George Clooney's screen daughter in The Descendants.
She will next play Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and is tipped to join the film version of teenage novel Divergent.
