Woody Harrelson wants a fiery role
Woody Harrelson is apparently in talks to join Out Of The Furnace as a villain.
The Hunger Games actor could be facing off opposite Christian Bale in Scott Cooper's upcoming gritty crime drama, a role which Billy Bob Thornton had been eyeing up, reported Variety.
Christian is already signed on to play Russell Baze, a released prisoner who seeks vengeance for his younger brother's murder (played by Casey Affleck).
Sam Shepard and Zoe Saldana are also on board, with Sam portraying the brother's uncle and Zoe as Christian's love interest.
Production on the film, which is being co-produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Ridley Scott, begins in coming weeks in Pennsylvania.
Relativity Media's co-president Tucker Tooley, who will release the film in the States, said: "This is a meaty script with characters as strong as they are complex, and we needed powerhouse actors who complement the story.
"Christian, Casey, Zoe and Sam each approach everything they do with heart and conviction. We can't wait to see what each of them brings to this film."
Woody - who has wrapped heist film Now You See Me and will be seen alongside Colin Farrell in Seven Psychopaths - has earned rave reviews for his morally blurred turn in Rampart.
