X Factor star Janet Devlin the new Miami sound machine
It’s a long way from Omagh to Miami.
But Northern Ireland’s X Factor hopeful Janet Devlin takes her latest steps on the road to pop stardom tonight when she performs at judge Kelly Rowland’s US mansion.
The Tyrone girl, who last week wowed the judges with her performance of Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing, will sing in front of the former Destiny’s Child star, as well as actress Jennifer Hudson.
All 32 remaining acts have been whisked off to glamorous locations as the judges prepare to reduce them to the final 16.
The groups are in Greece with Tulisa Contostavlos, and Gary Barlow is in Los Angeles with the boys.
Also on the show, eccentric contender Kitty Brucknell stays cool under pressure at her judge's house — by jumping in the pool.
Viewers on tonight's instalment will see the 26-year-old try to impress mentor Louis Walsh and pop veteran Sinitta with her version of Kelly Clarkson's Beautiful Disaster before leaping into the pool.
The singer, who describes herself as “a very controversial performer”, explained to host Dermot O'Leary: “I'm hot and I had waited all day to get in the pool.”
X Factor is on ITV1 tonight at 8pm.
