X Factor twins John and Edward Grimes to perform Ghostbusters
Wednesday, 4 November 2009
Irish X Factor hopefuls John and Edward Grimes will be performing the Ghostbusters theme song on Saturday night, it can be revealed.
The Dublin duo — dubbed ‘Jedward’ — have another no-holds-barred production prepared for the show's themed Movie Night.
While the majority of other contestants have opted for big ballads to show off their vocals, the fun-loving 18-year-olds have once again chosen to stand out from the crowd and hit the audience with an energetic, fast-paced song.
Although the pair have become the most talked-about contestants this year, the show's latest reject, Rachel Adedeji (17), has placed the blame on Jedward for turning the show into a “popularity contest” and not giving other singers a fair chance.
Rachel was voted off on Sunday's show after being placed in the bottom-two for the third time since the live finals began.
However, the aspiring songstress believes she has the talent to go further and it was John and Edward who turned the competition into a “popularity contest”.
“Maybe the public are looking for something different this year,” she said.
“If I had a twin sister with wacky hair maybe I'd still be in. People might like that.”

WoW! catty comments from Rachel!! Jealously clealy gets you everywhere! Errr, Rachel - did you not stop and think that people didn't vote for you because of your attitude?? Or the fact that you're just another middle of the road singer?? If you were that good you wouldn't have been in the bottom 2 three times would you????? you failed like lots of other wannabes before you.deal with it.

I have never watched X-factor before until last week. I am not a fan of 'reality' TV shows in any way.
However, I did watch these guys last week because of all the publicity, positive and negative, that they have been receiving. I had to see what everyone was talking about, I suppose. I discovered that they are absolutely talentless when it comes to being musical performers and in no way have an 'X-factor', whatever that may be. These guys are the modern day equivalent of the 'Hairy Woman' that used to be prevalent in circus big-tops years ago. Therefore, we haven't really come that far as a society, have we? We still like freak shows, for whatever reason that may be.

shallow TV programme dressed up as talent competition slammed as a popularity competition by a former contestant.
Quick stop the press, the popular ones get through, thats life love. Here's a step-ladder, get over it.
One quick question for you though. If Jedward were not in the competition, does it mean that you would have gotten knocked out next week? You still had to beat all the others, so that makes sense.
Instead of havin a whinge, why not get a demo tape and send it to some record companies. Oh yeah, that takes work and commitment.
