Zero Dark Thirty wins writer nod

Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty has a Writers Guild Awards nomination

Kathryn Bigelow's war drama Zero Dark Thirty has been nominated for the 2013 Writers Guild Awards.

The political film following the pursuit for Osama bin Laden, which has been written by Mark Boal and stars Jessica Chastain, is one of five films shortlisted for a nod for original screenplay.

Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master, Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola's Moonrise Kingdom, Rian Johnson's Looper and John Gatins' Flight make up the rest of the list.

Argo, Lincoln, Life Of Pi, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower and Silver Linings Playbook are the films battling it out for adapted screenplay.

Last year, Woody Allen's Midnight In Paris starring Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams won original screenplay, while The Descendants with George Clooney took home the adapted screenplay award.

The Writers Guild Awards, which honour outstanding writing, will take place in simultaneous ceremonies on February 17 in New York and in Los Angeles.

Gemini:

You never do anything in moderation. Attend every fun party, accept every juicy offer and try all the delectable treats spread before you. Avoid unpleasant people and activities like the plague. This should be a time of enjoyment. Leave your list of chores at home. You can always attend to these jobs at another time. If you have a chance to show your creative work to a publisher, manager or agent, go ahead. This is also a great opportunity to go on job interviews, auditions and first dates.More
