Hi °C | Lo °C Ever wondered what your soul might look like if it was extracted and stored in a jar?
When actor Paul Giamatti (played by the Sideways star himself) undergoes this high-tech procedure to alleviate the anxieties that plague his performance of Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, he finds that his soul isn't quite what he expected. Despite this, Giamatti plans to reinstate it once he has survived the play, but he doesn't bargain on the Russian soul-trafficking ring that has taken a shine to his specimen. Giamatti's quest to get his soul back makes for an amusing journey into a surreal yet strangely believable world, and his tenderly witty performance perfectly complements this intriguing Charlie Kaufman-style debut from director Sophie Barthes.
