Pop’s hottest stars, including Selena Gomez, Katy Perry and Jessie J pulled out all the stops as they strutted their stuff on the red carpet at the MTV awards in Belfast

The fashion choices on show varied massively as some opted for show-stopping glamour, while others sported a funky, laid-back vibe.

Awards show host, teen-sensation Selena Gomez wore several looks throughout the ceremony.

Arriving on the red carpet she adorned a beautiful cream tulle Marchesa dress with mesh panelling, flattering her petite silhouette perfectly.

Selena went on to wear bright block colours while also supporting local design, accessorising a strapless gold puffball dress with a pendant from Belfast designer Gráinne Maher’s collection ‘Pluck and Devour’.

Proving once again, she has impeccable taste Selena also wore a second piece by the designer – paring a sleeveless red jumpsuit with a gold multi chain necklace.

One of my favourite looks of the night - UK soulstress Jessie J wowed onlookers in full red-carpet glamour, wearing a strapless leopard-print fishtail Dolce & Gabbana gown, boasting her enviable figure.

Similar full-length Emporio Armani gowns, perfect for glamourous festive parties can be found in Armani Collections at The Outlet.

Katy Perry, who won the first award of the night for best live act, went all out in a more casual pastel pink ensemble – a massive colour for spring/summer 2012. Matching her kooky character, she wore a pink studded leather jacket and graphic print one-shouldered tube dress. Finishing the look, she added monochrome chunky platform brogues.

French superstar DJ, David Guetta pulled off an edgy rock look, wearing black leather trousers. He accessorized with several friendship bracelets, very similar to Unisex Swarovski Crystal Friendship Bracelets available in jewellers Chapelle at The OUTLET, which have recently been sported by celebrities such as JLS, Jay Z, Beyonce and Chris Brown.

Not ones to shy from the spotlight, US pop duo LMFAO showcased their unique style, with one member wearing an animal-print jumpsuit with co-ordinating bumbag. While the other wore an embellished black and white suit combo. Garish yet brave choices, which succeeded in upstaging the other, less adventurous male stars attending the award ceremony.

Saving the best until last - the biggest winner of the night, taking home four gongs Lady Gaga failed to disappoint and led the fashion brigade with not one, but five ensembles from Manish Arora’s Paco Rabanne Spring 2012 collection. This is Arora’s debut collection for Rabanne, who was known infamously, for his interest in paranormal phenomena.

Lady Gaga steals the show

The futuristic looks came in vivid colours of red, green and silver. As the star performed, the foil full-body masks rippled and flexed like frill-necked dragons, exaggerating the fashion heights Gaga will go to for her art. Adding to the creations Gaga wore alien-like headwear by Philip Treacy, virtually covering her face. With her hair tiered and swept to one side she completed her look with silver glitter eyebrows, various glitter lip colours and skyscraper Nicholas Kirkwood design crystal platform heels.
