Rock giants: Whitesnake are teaming up with Def Leppard for a mega tour that's heading this way

Two of the world's biggest rock bands are teaming up to undertake a mammoth arena tour - and are heading to Belfast this summer.

Def Leppard and Whitesnake have announced a series of co-headline shows across the UK, including a date at the Odyssey Arena on Saturday, June 21.

The show is a must-see for rock fans and is expected to sell-out quickly.

Def Leppard are one of only five rock groups who can claim two separate original 10 million-plus selling albums in the US - the others are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Van Halen.

Last year marked the 20th anniversary of the legendary album Hysteria. The band also staged a 50-date tour across the US, starting in June and ending in September. Def Leppard are planning to release a new studio album in mid 2008, which promises to include a very special collaboration.

Legendary front man David Coverdale is bringing Whitesnake back on the road this year to celebrate the band's 30th anniversary.

April will see the release of the first new Whitesnake album in over 10 years. Good To Be Bad will feature 11 new Whitesnake songs.

Speaking about the forthcoming tour, which kicks off in Glasgow on June 17, Coverdale said: "I can't wait to get back on stage - after being in the studio for most of 2007. I am most definitely ready to let off some steam The front row should definitely be prepared."

Special guests on the tour are Black Stone Cherry, who come from the US and have just won Best New Band at the Classic Rock awards.

Tickets for the Belfast show are priced £32.50 (standing) and £35.50 (seated) and can be booked through www.livenation.co.uk or via the ticketline, 0844 576 5483. Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 18 at 9am.
