The Chemical Brothers are to play at the Portrush Beach Party

The Portrush Beach Party is back on again featuring the UK's leading dance act The Chemical Brothers, the Belfast Telegraph can reveal today.

The beach rave, which took place at the East Strand car park in 2006 and 2007, was cancelled last month after the promoters were unable to secure a suitable headline act.

But new promoters have since stepped in and, after weeks of negotiations, announced this morning that the event will go ahead after all.

Billed as Live at Portrush, the beach party will once again be staged at the East Strand car park in the seaside town on Saturday, June 14.

Lisburn-based event promoters PLM Promotions and Col Hamilton from award-winning nightclub Lush teamed up to rescue the beach party, by booking Grammy award winners the Chemical Brothers.

The line-up will also include Fedde Le Grand (Put Your Hands Up For Detroit), Eric Prydz (Call On Me), Utah Saints, DJ Steve Angello and Chemical Brothers' tour DJ James Holroyd.

The festival-styled Live at Portrush event will run from 3pm until 11pm and will feature a host of special additions to the event, including funfair rides.

Tickets for the concert go on sale at 9am on Friday at Ticketmaster, priced £37, plus booking.

A limited number of special VIP tickets will also go on sale priced £59, plus booking fee, on the same day.
