The Zutons are the second band lined up to play the new Belsonic Festival in Belfast this summer.

The Liverpudlian band will top the bill at Custom House Square on Friday, August 15.

Their boisterous, hook-laden music has scored them a string of hit singles, including the track Valerie which was also a massive hit for Amy Winehouse, and should provide a perfect summer evening party soundtrack.

Taking place in the convenient urban setting of the Custom House Square, Belsonic will be a series of very special events bringing the best in music to the heart of the city.

The Flaming Lips will play at Belsonic on Monday, August 11, as revealed in the Belfast Telegraph earlier this week.

More headlining acts for Belsonic will be announced later.

The Zutons emerged in 2004 with infectious songs which made an instant connection. Their debut album Who Killed The Zutons sold more than 600,000 copies in the UK alone, spawning the singles Pressure Point and Don't Ever Think (Too Much).

Tired Of Hanging Around was the follow-up and included the single Why Won't You Give Me Your Love.

The album also spawned Valerie, which Mark Ronson reworked for Amy Winehouse.

The Zutons release their new album You Can Do Anything on Monday, June 2.

Tickets to see The Zutons go on sale at 9am on Monday, May 12 from the Stiff Kitten, priced £30.

Tickets for The Flaming Lips are £35 and go on sale on Monday, May 12 at 9am.

Tickets will then go on general sale from 9am on Friday, May 16 from Ticketmaster outlets.
