Album: Mariah Carey, E=MC2

Friday, April 25, 2008

She's Ms Untouchable in the world of pop divas.

MARIAH CAREY

E = MC2

(The Island Def Jam)

Boasting more awards than most plus the accolade of top-selling female artist in history, Mariah Carey need never have to try again. But trying she is. New album E = MC2 is jam-packed with funk, hip-hop R'*'B and sophisticated ballads — Queen Mariah's forte.

In a similar vein to 2005's fine The Emancipation of Mimi, the latest record contains some of the singer's finest work ever.

These include the disco-flecked OOC and the belter of a ballad Thanks 4 Nothing.

E=MC2 is the 38-year-old's 11th album.

You can be assured there are many more to come.
