1D video message to injured fan

One Direction have sent a message to a fan who was hurt in a school shooting

One Direction have sent a video message to a fan who was badly injured in a US school shooting.

Claire Davis, a 17-year-old student, remains in a coma after another student at the Colorado public school shot her and then took his own life on December 13.

When One Direction stars Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan found out about the student's condition, the boyband recorded a video message.

"Hi Clare, we've heard you were a big fan and we just wanted to show you some love. What's happened to you is actually terrible and something we can't bear thinking about," Liam, flanked by his bandmates, says in the message.

"So we just wanted to share some love with you. All our prayers with you and your family. Hope you get well soon. Lots of love," he adds, giving the camera a thumbs-up.

The group recorded the 13-second video message and sent it to Claire's family, a source told CNN.
