Arthur: I tried out for The Voice

James Arthur has revealed that he previously auditioned for The Voice but only made the last 200.

The X Factor winner, 25, said that he "liked nothing" about the rival BBC One show and said that they were only interested in former TV stars.

"I went to do it, well I got asked to come down. I made the last 200," the Impossible singer told Capital FM.

"But it was just very apparent to me that they had all these ex-TV stars that they had already decided on going through."

He added: "It was a bit of a fix for me. My heart wasn't in it, I didn't like the structure of it. I don't like the producers - I liked nothing about it. So I went and won a bigger show!"
