Dame Shirley Bassey will perform at the Cannes Film Festival

Dame Shirley Bassey will perform at a celebrity Aids fundraiser at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

The Welsh showbiz veteran, who performed at this year's Oscar ceremony, will join acts including Ellie Goulding and Duran Duran at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala at the annual movie industry gathering in the south of France later this month.

The American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) has long been a popular cause in Hollywood, with Elizabeth Taylor among its earliest supporters.

It has held a fundraiser at the festival every year since 1993 and among the stars in this year's audience will be charity supporters Sharon Stone, Janet Jackson, Jessica Chastain and Heidi Klum.
