Beady Eye to play Belsonic festival

Liam Gallagher's band Beady Eye will play the Belsonic festival

Liam Gallagher's new band, Beady Eye, has been added to this year's Belsonic music festival.

The former Oasis front man said he could not wait for the August event at Custom House Square, Belfast.

"We've never played a festival in Belfast, so I can`t wait for this Belsonic thing.

"It is about time I played an outdoor gig in the city, long overdue."

The band, made up of ex-Oasis members Liam, Gem Archer and Andy Bell, played to a packed Ulster Hall last month.

Gallagher added: "The people in Northern Ireland are always so up for it - they just get it. It's like they know something nobody else does."

American rockers 30 Seconds To Mars have also been added to the bill.

The MTV music award winners join acts including Primal Scream, Dizzee Rascal and The Specials as headline acts.

Last year more than 40,000 people attended Belsonic, organisers said.

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Taurus:

An embarrassing secret will come to light, affecting your reputation. Somebody who once admired you will now turn away in dismay. Instead of trying to win their affection again, lay low for a wee while. You'll make a much better impression by letting your actions speak for themselves. There is a chance this relationship is beyond redemption. If your former friend decides to keep their distance, you will have no other choice than to respect their feelings. Better luck next time.More
