Belfast singer, Brian Houston, is bound for Obama breakfast

Belfast singer Brian Houston is set to join the new US President, Barack Obama, for breakfast in Washington next week.

Brian will join a group of political, social and business leaders from across the world who have been invited to this year’s National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC from February 3 to 6.

Speaking about the invitation, Brian said: “I performed at an event in Belfast last year as a favour for a friend.

“It ended up being a great gig. It also turns out that one of the guests was from the National Prayer Breakfast and loved it and then, out of the blue, I received a very fancy letter on January 9.

“It read: ‘Members of the Congress of the United States of America request the pleasure of your company at the 57th National Prayer Breakfast with the President of the US and other national leaders in the Executive, Judicial and Legislative Branches of our Government. It will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 8pm Hilton Washington International Ballroom, Washington DC.’”

“I am looking forward to the whole experience and to playing at the Irish hosted party too,” Brian added.

A close relationship could reach a rocky patch. Resist the urge to emotionally withdraw from your loved one. Be willing to address the issues that have been pulling you apart. You could hear some painful things about your behaviour. Instead of getting defensive, be open to changing for the sake of your relationship. Think back to a time when someone you loved worked hard to gain your affection and approval. Pattern your attitude after theirs. Being flexible is more important than being right.More
