Blur to play Dublin museum gig

Britpop heroes Blur are set to play their first Irish gig in four years

Blur have announced their first Irish gig in four years.

The Brit Pop icons will perform at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) in Kilmainham, Dublin, on Thursday August 1.

The award-winning act has scooped several accolades over the last 20 years, including at the Grammys, Brits, Ivor Novellos and NME Awards.

Their creative live career has also spanned clubs, parks, dog-tracks, theatres, museums and arenas, as well as headlining festivals worldwide.

Tickets, priced at 62.50 euro, go on sale on Thursday through Ticketmaster.

Blur were last year honoured at the Brits for their outstanding contribution to music and debuted two new songs at their critically acclaimed show at Hyde Park, which celebrated the closing of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The reformed band also took home the Q Award for Best Live Act in 2012.

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Taurus:

An embarrassing secret will come to light, affecting your reputation. Somebody who once admired you will now turn away in dismay. Instead of trying to win their affection again, lay low for a wee while. You'll make a much better impression by letting your actions speak for themselves. There is a chance this relationship is beyond redemption. If your former friend decides to keep their distance, you will have no other choice than to respect their feelings. Better luck next time.More
