Boyzone name date for Belfast gig

enlargeBoyzone will kick off their 2009 tour in Belfast next May.
The reformed five-piece will play the Odyssey Arena on May 24, followed by a show in Dublin on May 26. The band will then embark on a tour of the UK, including a date at Wembley Arena in London. They will round off the Better 09 tour at the 02 in London on June 22.
Last year Boyzone chose Belfast to begin their Reunion tour, selling out a number of shows in the city.
The band — Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Shane Lynch, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy — were a hugely successful pop band during the second half of the 1990s — achieving the best ever start to a UK singles career with 16 consecutive top five hits.
Having scored six number one singles, plus four number one albums, their total album tally exceeds 15 million, making them one of the UK’s best-selling bands. Boyzone split in 2000 and the five members pursued various other projects.
Last November the band appeared on Children In Need and then announced a reunion tour. It sold over 100,000 tickets in the first 24 hours. Boyzone now look set for more chart success with a new single, Love You Anyway, released next Monday. The new album, Back Again... No Matter What, is released on October 13.
Tickets to see Boyzone at the Odyssey on May 24 go on sale this Friday, at 9am, from the Odyssey box office and usual Ticketmaster outlets.

They are just awful! Dont see the point of them at all and anyone who goes to these concerts and screams and gets on is just incredibley sad. They look in pain when trying to do the dance routines! They're just not with it!!!!! AAAAAGGGGH gettin angry now thinking about it!

You're really pushing your luck. The ticket sales for the last tour were poor (selling for pennies on E Bay) - so why try to flog the proverbial very, very, tired and equally-talentless horse?
Sure, Ronan can hold a tune, and the boy-faced one still looks (just about) young enough to pull-off some of those god-awful stage costumes - but what about they others? - they are clearly there to make up the numbers.
There obviously wasn't anymore 'easy-money' to make off the back of terrible reality shows!
How many more bands will be lining up, looking for the 'Take That Effect'??
Doesn't anyone remember Billy Connelly's joke about Boyzone fans?
