Pop princess Britney Spears is to bring her Circus tour to Ireland in June.

The star is on the comeback trail after a spell in the wilderness and her Dublin O2 show on Friday, June 19 will be one of the most anticipated of the year.

There had been much speculation that troubled Britney would play Ireland this summer and last night Aiken Promotions confirmed the rumour.

A spokeswoman said that Belfast was not on the cards as Britney’s production is too large to fit into many venues.

Britney continued her comeback this week when she was placed fourth in a list of FHM’s Sexiest Women.

Tickets to see Britney at the O2 on June 19 go on sale on Friday, May 1 at 9am. They’re expected to sell out in record time.
