Britney Spears' teaching ambition

Britney Spears would have been a teacher if she wasn't a popstar

Britney Spears has revealed if she wasn't a world-famous pop star she would like to have been a teacher.

The 29-year-old singer - who has been performing since she was five and famously danced in school uniform in the video of her hit Baby One More Time - told Popjustice.com she had previously considered following her mother Lynne into teaching.

Britney said: "I'd probably be a teacher. I love kids and even in what I do now one of my favourite parts of my day is getting to meet my fans before the show. Especially the little ones. They are always so cute."

The Femme Fatale star - who is mother to five-year-old Sean Preston and four-year-old Jayden James - said she is dedicated to being a mother, adding: "I'm very strong in the way I raise my kids and stuff."

Britney said she wouldn't stop her sons following her into showbusiness if they showed an interest, but admitted she would be very protective of them, having grown up in the industry herself.

She said: "I'd definitely keep an eye on them, but if that's what they wanted to do then I'd let them go after it. I'd just be very protective.

"I wouldn't want them to go into it feeling fearful, and also nobody can really prepare you for this industry and what you experience, so I'd just have to trust that they have the instincts to know what's right and wrong and help guide them along the way. I think I have the experience."

Ask colleagues and relatives for help with mundane errands while you focus on the long term financial future. If you don't protect your economic interests, nobody else will.More
