Britney Spears has confirmed she has finally returned to the recording studio.
The US pop princess, who has been busy on the judging panel of US X Factor, told fans on Twitter that she is set to unveil a new record for the first time in two years.
She wrote in a Q&A with fans: "Working hard. Collaborating with some new inspiring producers. Really focused on my music right now."
When a fan tweeted that they were looking forward to a new album from her, the 31-year-old star replied: "I'm excited too."
Britney's last album was 2011's Femme Fatale.
So far it isn't known whether the mum-of-two will be returning for another series of US X Factor. She joined Simon Cowell, LA Reid and Demi Lovato for the second season of the show, which recently came to an end with country singer Tate Stevens winning the big prize.
