Cool FM's Pete Snodden says NO:
“I think it’s nonsense to suggest that a win by John and Edward will kill off the X Factor.
“The show survived Steve Brookstein and Leon Jackson after all. Where are they now?
“Is anyone saying they made a mockery of the show? I don’t think so.
“Simon Cowell is not stupid. He knows it’s all about ratings, and he knows the public is finding John and Edward entertaining. He also knows he could make money out of them.
“They won’t have the longevity of a pop career like Leona Lewis might have, but they could be a novelty act, like an Irish version of The Cheeky Girls.
“I could see them having a number one single and then going on to do something else. Remember Sam (Nixon) and Mark (Rhodes), two contestants from Pop Idol? They’re now television presenters.
“The X Factor is as much about getting viewership up as it is about finding a superstar. And, let’s face it, that’s what John and Edward are doing.
“Do I think the X factor will survive if the twins go on and win? Absolutely. However, I can see them making it to the final, but I don’t think they will win.
“They’ll stay in for as long as possible but I believe common sense will prevail and the most talented person will win.”
Broadcaster Stuart Baillie says YES:
“John and Edward are two |repellant little men and represent everything that is obnoxious about the fame culture that so many people are |obsessed with.
“They are getting everything they deserve from the Press and, it has to be said, so is Simon Cowell.
“John and Edward are Simon’s spawn and the fact that he does not like them makes it all the more hilarious.
“I think people like to know that everything is being thrown back at Cowell now.
“It’s become almost an |enjoyable sport for the public and the more he grimaces the more people will love it.
“I would hate to think this odious show would be around forever.
“I think the time will come when people just can’t tolerate it anymore.
“I really hope — and believe — that John and Edward could hasten the end of this horrible institution.
“Everything must come to an end at some time.
“Margaret Thatcher and Big Brother both ended.
“And with any luck the Terrible Twins, or the ‘vile little creatures’ as Cowell called them himself, will bring about the demise of The X Factor.”

John & Edward are by far the most entertaining act for me There are many big singing stars who also don't sing too well. The lads have got my vote...........

it no more a talent show , its just pure comedy . do u know what will be hilarious ? if the twins are in bottom two again the other contestant shd just sing out of tune and dance in a very funny way ...that wld give the judges something to think about . cuz all they think about is money and how they look {cheryl}.....lol .....i hope the ratings drop and the twins win i'll see if all those voting fot hem now will buy their cd...

I hope that John and Edward DO kill off X factor - a once entertaining talent show that gave an opportunity for stardom to the talented public.
The judges have become by their own behaviour, demi-gods purely interested in money and whether they can 'win'and the contestants pretty talentless as Jedward have proved.
It's a shame for the really talented people such as Danyl, Joe, Jamie Lucie and Stacey etc. as they have become involved in a circus that has spiralled out of control. Where will any of them be in a couple of years which is a shame as they are seem nice people.
As far as Jedward are concerned they are not even pleasant in personality - they are so thick skinned and driven by the desire for fame or infame. Let's hope they get abducted by leprechauns.One thing is for sure - it they win, X Factor will NEVER be watched in my home again.

They are rubbish! They need to be kicked off the show now!
All the good people are going because they're staying, Lloyd nearly went home last week! And for what? So they have a chance, They Can't Sing!
Yes they can entertain but the X-Factor is not for them, They should just have their own show, it would make life Alot easier for them, and people who love the X-factor, but hate them!

I am definitely not a fan of the twins, but that having been said, all four judges were responsible for getting them through to the judges houses. However (and remember I am not a fan of JEdward) the standard on Saturday night (rock week) was so bad that I actually thought they were good. Oh someone's at the door it's a white van with men in white jackets ..... should I be worried???

Anyone who thinks the X factor is a serious show needs help! its entertainment.
once its all over no one cares about any of these people.
Jedward are great craic! makes my saturday night! the rest might be able to sing by my word they are not half as interesting as these two.

I think that they want to be famous and think they are great singers but they arent they do their best. its like an accident on a highway people need to se and thats what these guys are. I think they need to finish their highschool diploma and go into theatre studies and do something in the media.

I think John and Edward should have their own show! Then people who like them can still enjoy them, and people who don't like them don't have to watch them, and can't really complain. But really, if they stay on to win X Factor, it would be so unfair to the other, more talented contestants.

i think people should give them a break, fair enough the can not sing but they are being voted in by the public and then people give out about them like it is there fault. at least they entertain us every week.

nothing is more entertaining then jedward!! lets face it we all cant wait to see what they are going to do on a saturaday night, regardless of whether they can sing or not!! cant stand people booing them, if they dont like them then just dont clap!!! go jedward!! about time we had some fun on t.v rather than so much seriousness!!
