Cheryl Cole still suffers from stagefright, Dermot O'Leary has revealed.
The Fight For This Love singer's cool composure melts before a live performance, despite her years of experience performing with Girls Aloud.
"She breezes through the studio and the auditions and she's brilliant, she shows no sign of nerves whatsoever - but the minute she has to go out there and sing, she absolutely s***s herself," said the X Factor presenter at the Elle Style Awards in London.
He added: "This shows she cares. She's so professional and meticulous. What I love about her is how much she cares about it all."
Dermot, who presented Cheryl - who was wearing a stunning red gown - with her award for best music, is still hoping to team up with her for the US X Factor.
"I'd rather be travelling with her than Simon," he quipped.
"I don't know, I'm on the shortlist, that's all I know so we'll see. I want it but I think it's me and four Americans, so chances are I won't get it. But it's nice to be on the shortlist anyway."
