Cheryl Cole's 'soulful' new music

Cheryl Cole treated Joel Compass to a preview of her new music

Joel Compass has praised Cheryl Cole's new music - but denied he's dating the X Factor judge.

Cheryl treated the Forgive Me singer to a preview of hew new music after meeting up with him last month.

The Call My Name singer was snapped giving him a peck on the cheek.

Songwriter Joel told The Sun that Cheryl's new music had a "soulful" feel.

"She's such a lovely girl, we met because we have mutual friends. I think the music is sounding great. She's got some soulful stuff going on," he said.

And he insisted that the pair are just friends, adding: "I was lucky to get a kiss on the cheek. We're not dating, although people tell me I look her type."

Cheryl hinted that a fourth album was on its way when she uploaded a picture of a music studio to her official Instagram page, with the caption: "Back with my first true love," last year.

She late wrote on Twitter: "Can not sleep for the love of trying. I am toooo hyped about music..."

Her last album, A Million Lights, was released in June 2012.
