Charlotte Church has confessed she is more nervous about performing now, than when she was a child.
The Welsh singer rose to fame aged just 12, and now aged 27 is launching her new album in the US, beginnign her tour at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas.
Charlotte said of performing live: "I'm getting more nervous as I get older. When I was really young I was totally fearless. As I've gotten older I'm more scared, it matters more. It just means the world to me now."
The former opera star is excited about presenting her new alternative sound in America.
She said: "I've been waiting a long time to come back to the States.
"I'm intrigued to see how people will take it. In the US, I'm known predominantly as a singer; in the U.K., I've been seen as a caricature of myself for such a long time, so it's been difficult for me to find the credibility as a musician that I so crave."
