Classical stars for Derry
A host of classical music stars are set to descend on Londonderry when the city hosts the Walled City Music Festival from July 29 to August 5.
The festival line-up boasts such stellar names as Sir James Galway and the Kronos Quartet, who have been described as The Rolling Stones of the classical world.
Events will take place at the Guildhall, the Millennium Forum and the Great Hall at Magee University.
This will be the third year of the festival, which is the brainchild of renowned Derry pianist Cathal Breslin.
"I feel I am now in a position where I can invite some of biggest artists in the world to Derry, people I have worked with in my career," he explained.
"I want to build a festival that will inspire the younger generation by giving them access to some of the world's greatest artists in a single week."
