Culture Club: We're happy together

Culture Club are happy back together

Culture Club insist they have buried the hatchet and are happy to be working together again.

Boy George and the rest of the 80s pop group - Roy Hay, Mikey Craig and Jon Moss - admit they had their differences, but they are ready to put bitter feuds and physical fights behind them.

Drummer Jon, who used to date George, confessed: "Boy George tried to kill me with a plant pot so I set fire to him but we are friends now."

And now the Karma Chameleon stars are preparing for a tour of the UK in December.

Boy George said: "We've transcended our relationship I think... through time.

"I always think it's like when animals get together and they have a sniff round each other to see what's appropriate. We're exactly as we've always been, just getting comfortable with each other again."

The 52-year-old singer said it had been therapeutic to reform the band.

He said: "I had a very clear vision, though they all felt I was being difficult. I just felt it was our last chance to do this and actually have fun doing it.

"For me Culture Club is like this room in my house that was in disarray, left unloved.

"In the spirit of getting my house in order it was the one room that needed love and attention. The way I finished the band wasn't the way I wanted it to be.

"Romantic that I am, I thought there was a chance to do something soulful, from the heart.

"No one is offering money, we don't have a record label - it had to be about us finding what we wanted to be. The last month has really done that."

The band first split 28 years ago in 1986, and last performed together in 2002. But in 2006 Mikey and Jon tried to reform the band on their own, with a new, younger lead singer.

Boy George said: "I was kind of like, 'How dare they?' I would never go out as Culture Club without them."

Mikey said: "It was a complete mistake, concocted by someone who wrote with us. It wasn't the right thing to do."

Virgo:

A home improvement project will grind to a halt. Someone who is close to your heart may need some peace and quiet. Be prepared to send a repair professional away while your loved one recovers. If you're renting a space, your landlord may tell you to leave with very little notice. Stay calm. It will be easier to find new living arrangements if you remain logical. Spread the word on social media. Be specific about your needs. A friend or acquaintance may hear of somewhere suitable for you.More
