Miley Cyrus has had to cancel a European interview because of illness.

The Party In The USA singer apologised to her German fans after revealing she has been struck by a bout of food poisoning, which has left her bed-bound.

"Sick in bed :( away from home. Music is the best medicine. Missing home #foodpoisoningsab****," she tweeted.

Miley, who is promoting her new single We Can't Stop, revealed she had an interview arranged with Berlin-based newspaper Bild, which she had to pass on.

"Sorry 2 Bild and all my fans for not being able to make it today! Something's are outta my control (sic). I'm really sick thanks for understanding," she continued.

And she warned: "And I apologise in advance to any reporters I may puke on or get sick. #norestforthewicked."

The 20-year-old recently told Daybreak she loved returning to the UK, despite the paparazzi "ruining" her visit.

"I feel like just because I don't get to come here as often, when I'm here it becomes a really big event. They're crazy [the fans], I love it," she said.

"I hate that the paparazzi has ruined the trip because I was outside trying to take a bunch of pictures with fans. It got hard because the media also gets that way, just because I'm never around, so it's kinda like mayhem when I'm here but that's good."
