Deadmau5 has revealed his new album is "a poster book" of his year.
The Canadian electro-house music producer unveiled his sixth studio album - which is titled > album title goes here < - this week, and told MTV.com that it came together in an unusual way because he had limited time at home to work on it.
He said: "It wasn't one of those albums where I did 'A, B, C, this is the way the album is going to go' with the tracks. It's more of a poster book of a year and a half because I had a big f****** tour year, and if you're going to do an album, you have to be home and do an album, and then you're done like normal people.
"So yeah, as fate would have it, I would get home for a couple of weeks, and I would do that one song and people saw that, you stream it live and then I thought, 'Okay, I'll put it on the album'."
The star, whose real name is Joel Zimmerman, said the record is "like a poster book of my year and the work I got done in the chaos kind of thing".
The 31-year-old added: "Hopefully next time, and I know I say this every f****** time, that I'll have this year off of touring and put together something that's like [Pink Floyd's] The Wall. No, don't even compare me to that please... something that tells a story and has a big package thing [around it]."
